We Can!

Today S1 completed their history topic on Islamic Civilisations. The class has worked very hard on this, and all of them were able to fill in lots of 'I can's' on their end of topic self assessment sheets, including:

I can describe the differences between modern day and 7th Century Saudi Arabia;
I can explain why it is important to study Islamic Civilisations in the 21st Century;
I can name key events in Muhammed's life and explain why he is still an important historical figure to Muslims today;
I understand why Muhammed was popular with rich and poor people;
I understand how the Arabian armies managed to conquer so much of the Arab world;
I can describe life in an Islamic city;
I can give examples from British culture and language to show the influence of Arabian culture on the rest of the world.
